Hi, I was wondering if anyone has made these without eggs? They sound great but I am allergic to egg yolks. Making these for the first time right now! I was so excited to get them in the pan I forgot the cinnamon. I don’t have a skillet and didnt know what the equivalent of 350* was on my gas stove top so I did them in a sauté pan on (2 to 3-low) and they came out great. They don’t look as nice as yours but they’re delicious. I want to make them for my vegan sister, do you know if they work with Egg Replacer?

So about the recipe… You have to buy the Paleo wraps online or if you’re from my area (Mandeville, Louisiana), my friend at Vive sells them. I’m not always a huge fan of buying Paleo products, but 1) these are only made of coconut, so they’re super healthy and 2) these are SO good and will give you so many new options for lunch. After you buy the wraps, make the chicken salad and use a Paleo mayo recipe. Do not get lazy about the Paleo mayo and buy store-bought; the Paleo mayo is much better. Mayo can be tough if you don’t follow directions. Happy lunch-making! The recipes for all 7 different flavors are included. The ingredients listed above for maroon consist of all the ingredients. The other colors only have the ingredients listed that are not included in the maroon variety. All you need is a good blender and a food dehydrator. Although I have dried fruits in the oven before. The oven is faster but necessarily better. Just turn it on the lowest heat possible. I put links to two different dehydrators because one is way more affordable than the other. I have the cheap one and it works fine. But if you think you might use it a lot it might be worth the investment to get the more expensive one. Since the skittles are dried they can be stored at room temperature for a long time. That makes them handy to keep in your purse or bag for a time. AMAZING! I had my doubts as if these would be close to my beloved pancakes I miss so much. I read through all of the previous comments and took the advice of being very patient with cooking – I always flip the first batch too quickly with any pancake recipe :-) It was so hard to believe they cooked and fluffed just like my totally unhealthy pancakes. George, this one is a keeper for me. I plan to cook a big batch for the week and freeze for breakfasts on the go – no toppings needed for these babies.

Do you think I could sub Casava flour instead of almond flour and a different milk to make it nut free? I haven’t done a lot with casava flour but I work in a nut free environment and so many paleo recipes I can’t bring with me! Well I didn’t have any egg whites on hand so I went forward with sweet potato purée and to my surprise they were great! My husband who is not full time on the paleo diet and remembers “regular” pancakes agreed with me heartily when I said “it’s amazing how pancake like these are.” Our toddlers are allergic to cinnamon so we used allspice and nutmeg. 1/4C of sweet potato purée per egg. I have to admit the toddlers were not sold on them until we added raisins in our latest batch, but I think they’re asserting independence more than expressing true opinions haha. They loved them with raisins! Oh, I also added a bit of flax meal. I might try them again with egg whites or some egg whites some sweet potatoes (thanks Jody!) just because ours were not as filling as others have mentioned them being. We also followed the commenter below by baking them at 400F for 10-12 minutes rather than using a pan. Anyway I know I made a lot of modifications but thanks George for the great basic recipe! They are easy and convenient and I don’t miss the old kind of pancakes one bit when I’m eating them!

If you’re looking for a beef Paleo dish that comes out looking fantastic, like something you’d want to serve company, you’ll want to go with this braised bottom round roast. It is made with a whopping 3 pounds of grass fed beef bottom round, and has plenty of sweet potatoes, so you’ll be getting the fiber needed to help all of that meat make it through your system. An onion is added for good measure, and there are plenty of sage leaves used for flavor. She’s also using plenty of garlic, so you know that this roast will be noticeable on your palate.
My suggestion for an on-the-go version: I keep my ripe peeled bananas in the freezer. In the morning before work, I break off a 4″ piece of banana, put it in a microwave safe glass bowl with 1-2 Tbl almond butter (or cashew if I am out of almond). Put that in the microwave for about 1 minute (microwave temps vary!). Pull it out and it is soft and easy to whip with a fork. Add 1 egg, whip again until incorporated. Add silver dollar sized rounds to a coconut oil greased cast iron skillet, and cook. Yum yum!

Nina, how much cinnamon do you use for your pancakes? I have tried banana pancakes, with just 2 eggs, a banana and then some cinnamon and vanilla, but….I find seems like the banana tends to overpower things a bit, not sure if I’m not used to or not or if using an organic one would make a difference, but it’s a little bit of an adjustment. Any tips there? A binder may not be a bad idea either……

But this chicken parm is coated with Parmesan cheese and almond flour, which replaces the bread crumbs. Oh also…just in case anyone doesn’t have arrowroot or tapioca starch…whole root cassava works just as well. Have even added gelatin the past 2 times and they worked well.
