These dogs are not actually hot dogs, but are Cajun spiced sausages. You wouldn’t want to eat hot dogs on Paleo because it’s not in line with the Paleo philosophy, even though it does seem to be a meat item. Paleo is about getting back to natural foods, which is why you want to make sure you choose high quality ingredients at all times. These mini dogs have plenty of cauliflower to make them a complete meal, but because of their smaller size they are best used as a snack. They provide a few different dipping options, which it’s always nice to have a choice.

Top with fruit like strawberries or blueberries, more butter, bacon, or w/ organic 100% maple syrup. This batch makes 6 small, nutty pancakes which serves 2 (unless one is really hungry! I can’t recall where to credit the recipe, but it sure is good.
For a heartier cake, it’s best to mix a few different flours. This recipe uses almond, coconut, and tapioca flour, and also insists that eggs be at room temperature so the ingredients bind easily and cook perfectly (i.e. not too fast, which can cause them to burn). Berries can be a little tricky in this lightened-up batter, so we say skip 'em and stick to the compote.
I only used one banana, one egg, and scraped the bottom of my natural almond butter, a dash of cinnamon, and they were great. I would make the full size if I was feeding my husband too but I just wanted to say that if you want to make just enough for yourself it still works great. Anytime you keep things simple you’ll be keeping them Paleo. Think about it: early man didn’t complicate things because they couldn’t complicate things. They had to use what was around them, whatever that would have been. They also didn’t have well-equipped kitchens like we have, so their cooking style would have been rudimentary, yet effective. This tomato soup only adds a few different items plus some seasonings to fresh, ripe tomatoes so it’s going to really pop in your mouth, and the tomato flavor will be front and center. It gets that smokey charcoal tasted and overnight koshering definitely helps, something I do when time permits. First-time I've pierced a whole chicken minus the times I make jerk chicken on the grill. Yup, the cast iron was not an issue.
Hi I am back! I just thought I’d share this with you. I am pre-diabetic. This morning, I was intent on making your pancakes, and I did, shared with my sons. I did not check my blood sugar before, but I thought I’d check it around two hours after. (It’s been 2-1/2 hrs, I believe). I still am full (ate 6 of them pancakes topped with butter and real maple syrup). I expected to see around 110++ because of the bananas, nuts, and maple syrup. Guess what? 99!!! and I am still full. We’ve been Paleo-ish the past couple of years but with another baby due any day, I’ve been thrilled to find your blog and cookbooks. Sometimes I don’t have the money to keep almond flour on hand and my homemade version doesn’t have the lovely crumb bc it’s not as fine. My 3YO sometimes wants what her older siblings are having. We all tolerate rice flour well and your recipes have been awesome. I think it’s also because you aren’t shy about advising us to use a scale rather than volume measurements. I have tried banana pancakes, with just 2 eggs, a banana and then some cinnamon and vanilla, but….I find seems like the banana tends to overpower things a bit, not sure if I’m not used to or not or if using an organic one would make a difference, but it’s a little bit of an adjustment. Absolutely amazing! I love your recipes and this one will definitely be a staple for a family weekend breakfast. I have made this recipe using tapioca flour and today, with arrowroot flower. My preference is arrowroot flower. Tapioca flour has it’s place in some recipes but it can lead to a gummy texture, mainly in the middle of whatever it is I’m making. Arrowroot flour made these taste just like the real thing. My husband, who would put extra gluten on food (his running joke) was convinced these were the real thing.
