thank you so much for this recipe! I am now in my eleventh week of Paleo and lucky not to have sugar cravings or need of any breakfast substitute (I never get hungry before noon, so it’s easy to skip breakfast). But the other day, I was taking a little break in between home office work looking for some easy and fast dish and that was when I tried your Paleo Pancakes.
The first time we made this recipe I followed it to the letter, which resulted in an AMAZING, fluffy texture and wonderful flavor -until we got to the aftertaste, which was very overwhelming and metallic. I assumed it was too much baking soda, but to give the creator credit, maybe it was the brand of baking soda I used. The second time I made the recipe I used a different brand of baking soda, reduced it to 1/2 teaspoon, and added 3/4 teaspoon of lemon juice to the recipe to activate the baking soda. The revised recipe created a wonderful, fluffy pancake with an amazing flavor, and won rave reviews from my son, who said these are his new favorite meal! Thanks for helping our family to have delicious, healthy meals!
If you’re constantly craving chocolate, you might be deficient in magnesium. In fact, Mercola says approximately 80 percent of all Americans are deficient. If you find you crave chocolate, it’s very likely you need some magnesium. Almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and sesame seeds are all great sources of magnesium, as are green leafy veg like Swiss chard and spinach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J56pHrhyEg
Hopefully everyone knows about these by now, but it’s worth throwing on the list because they come in so handy. They’re available practically everywhere now. From Whole Foods, Amazon, Thrive Market, Co-ops and Target, most of us know we love them! They’re made from all natural ingredients (like everything on this list!) and come in no less than a zillion flavors ;). Try blueberry muffin, cashew cookie, lemon or even mint chip brownie!
Since most breakfast foods have grains, paleo eaters can sometimes have a hard time finding filling options other than eggs and bacon. The Paleolithic Diet, an increasingly popular lifestyle choice, is based on consuming only foods available to the first humans who lived over 200,000 years ago. Meaning: Plants and animal meats are in and grain and dairy products are out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr9Ogyiw4AA
The number of things that modern day cooks can do to vegetables is growing, and they’re coming up with new ways to make eating vegetables fun and desirable. This time they’ve managed to make a jerky out of eggplant, which makes it great to include when you’re having some beef jerky. Paleo is all about balancing out your meat intake with veggies, which would make a snack of beef jerky and eggplant jerky a pretty balanced way to go. They provide two different ways to make these, one for those that own a dehydrator and one for those that don’t.
