This Caprese-style salad is a great Paleo snack when you have just-right produce or an abundance of basil to use up. You’ll substitute mozzarella for creamy avocado loaded on fresh tomato slices. Top each tomato with basil, drizzle with balsamic vinegar and oil and enjoy. This one is great to enjoy while sitting outdoors enjoying a hot summer night.
This salsa chicken is advertised as being very simple, which will help you whip it up and get it in the crockpot quickly so you can get on with your day. Imagine getting this ready in the morning in just a few minutes, and coming home at the end of the day to a fully cooked meal ready to be eaten. That’s the concept here and she pulls it off nicely with organic salsa, chicken breast, a bit of chili powder, and an onion. We recommend you don’t serve this with a side salad to help make it a complete meal, as it’s a bit light on the vegetables. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNh6I_buzAo
FYI Scott Madden the Paleo diet is really just a general blueprint and most people just do the best that they can–some also just eat according to what they can handle or need and still consider it “paleo.” There are also many different options when it comes to protein powder (many people use pea, hemp etc) and not all of them contain wheat, soy, casein or whey. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtEubaJ30n0
Best stuff ever. I swear. There’s so many different HEALTHY flavors of jerky and meat sticks and even ones for kids! I love their traditional beef jerky and I can’t stop eating the cilantro lime flavored sticks. The date and rosemary flavor is pretty freaking amazing as well. There’s so many options that there’s no way you won’t find something you can’t get enough of!
Beef, it’s what’s for dinner on the Paleo diet, and these beef kebabs are made with sirloin, a premium cut of meat known for being lean. You want to take extra care to buy grass-fed beef when eating Paleo because it’s what a cow naturally eats, and doesn’t contain all of the additives they put in conventional cattle feed these days. Notice that they’ve also grilled up skewers with just vegetables. That’s because Paleo requires matching your meat intake with your vegetable intake for the right balance. She walks you through how to marinate the meat before grilling them, which ensures they’ll be flavorful and tender.
My three kids and I just finished a double batch of these and LOVED them! I’ve tried so many paleo pancake recipes and they’ve never turned out as “normal” as these (usually really flat and take forever to cook). I took the advice from another comment and beat the egg whites, separately, before beating them into the batter. We’ll definitely make these again! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIWMOrBumSk
It’s easy to get plantains and bananas mixed up. While plantains are part of the banana family and the two look alike, plantains are not sweet, and instead are used mostly as a starchy vegetable. Think of plantain chips as veggie chips. They are often sliced and baked with olive oil and salt, creating a nice crunch. Lots of supermarkets carry different versions of plantain chips, but not all plantain chips are Paleo, so you’ll want to check the ingredients before buying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFYJLWGqR_0
This Paleo diet recipe has a traditional Italian feel to it thanks to the use of Italian sausage and the spices it is packed with. It then takes it one step further with pesto, an item that you can make on your own following a Paleo friendly pesto recipe. There are also plenty of nourishing foods like baby spinach, and tomatoes, so you’re getting a fair amount of phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals. You can easily omit the mozzarella if you’re nixing all cheese per the official Paleo stance on cheese, but these are fresh mozzarella balls, and you may find they’re easier to digest.
I made these amazing pancakes they were amazing! the whole family loves them! I have tried fancy variations replacing the applesauce with pumpkin and adding pumpkin pie spice. and to make this even more decadent I have topped it with whipped coco cream! Thank you for sharing and making my morning WOW!!! So hard to find recipes that are paleo and not meat and veggies…I am french and can not have these for breakfast… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIR_wKNQIYs
Most commercial goods will be off limits while you’re on the Paleo diet because they are filled with processed ingredients, grains, chemicals, and other foods that just aren’t able to make the cut while eating the Paleo way. These spiced scones do a good job of replacing the pumpkin spiced scones you find at your local Starbucks when the season is right. The trick is they don’t use any ingredients that aren’t on the Paleo list of approved foods, so you’re totally in the clear. Isn’t it great that Paleo minded chefs are hard at work to bring you guilt-free recipes like these?
Surprised there are chocolate chip waffles on this list? Once you glance at the ingredients, you won’t be—Know Better is a paleo-friendly brand that makes grain-free, gluten-free, and protein-packed baked goods with coconut flour, chia seeds, and egg whites for added protein. These chocolate chip waffles also contain no added sugars; the chocolate chips are made from cacao and allulose. Enjoy them topped with almond butter for a seriously satisfying snack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdlQxISNpwY
I made these today and they were sooo delicious! I am new to your site and Paleo, I spent all afternoon gathering recipes to try out. I’m in the military also and the hardest part about sticking to a plan is the meal prep and planning. I thought going Paleo would be a lot of work and time in the kitchen but so far it’s been simple and fun! Thank you for doing this, I could not come up with this on my own and you make it so easy to follow. I can’t wait to try more :)
One other thing to note here is that I pre-make some of these ingredients, which takes time, but at least it’s not taking time in the middle of the day when I’m trying to work or rush out the door. Also, I don’t mind eating food cold. I know a lot of people can’t stomach the idea of eating cold meat, although that really confuses me because Subway makes billions of dollars every year selling cold meat. Anyway, you can always heat these things up at work or home. And without further ado… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnDzsN7ksME
Hey, great recipe and site!! FYI, The Paleo Kitchen cookbook has a mayo recipe that is SOOOO much easier…you take 3/4 cut oil of your choice, 1 egg, lemon juice(1 tsp I think), and 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, place them in a tall, narrow container, and use an immersion blender! Start at the bottom and move the blender upward as the ingredients emulsify. I had quit making my own mayo because the other way was SO time consuming and mine never seemed to come out right, but this version is pretty fool-proof! I use grapeseed oil because the olive oil is a bit bitter for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx6fTrGb6hA
Of course, snacking is completely optional on a Paleo diet. In fact, many people end up naturally eating only two meals per day, but it doesn’t mean that snacking is a bad idea, especially if the snack only contains healthy ingredients and prevents you from indulging with bad foods. They can also be great when on the go or as something to eat post workout. Just remember that your snacks should respect the basic principles of Paleo. This means that most fruits and nuts should be consumed only in moderation. Most fruits are high in the sugar fructose, which is toxic in higher doses and most nuts are high in polyunsaturated fat (PUFA), especially the omega-6 PUFA. Refer to my article on nuts and seeds to know about the best choices. This also means that snacks containing mainly saturated fat or animal protein are usually great.
These chips aren’t actually made from anything except the cheese. It’s asiago cheese, a hard cheese that doesn’t contain much lactose and is therefore looked upon as OK by some Paleo followers. If you know that you don’t process any cheese well you’ll want to take a pass on this one, but if you can handle it in occasional doses it’s worth it. The two ingredients are asiago cheese and rosemary, so it doesn’t get much simpler. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9eyUSERjrs
We’ve been Paleo-ish the past couple of years but with another baby due any day, I’ve been thrilled to find your blog and cookbooks. Sometimes I don’t have the money to keep almond flour on hand and my homemade version doesn’t have the lovely crumb bc it’s not as fine. My 3YO sometimes wants what her older siblings are having. We all tolerate rice flour well and your recipes have been awesome. I think it’s also because you aren’t shy about advising us to use a scale rather than volume measurements. My nonGF husband LOVED the pretzel rolls. (Yeah, I was too lazy to do the pretzel dogs and just made the rolls.) OMG! You so totally rock! I definitely want the new cookbook, too. I hate spending $2 extra to get a GF bun for me and my two kids while eating out or $1.25 for a frozen ok bun. Thanks to you we can eat at home and still have awesome breads and desserts for a fraction of the cost. Thanks again. I will gladly add the new cookbook and will probably just pre-order it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJK74-LC4hE
These gummy orange slices are really great because they don’t use any sugar, but they come out just like a piece of gummy candy, with natural orange flavoring throughout. Gelatin is something that you can definitely have while on the Paleo diet, and they’re making full use of it here. Of course real oranges account for the orange taste, which is a recurring theme with Paleo, it uses natural and basic ingredients to accomplish its flavor goals. You’ll have to decide for yourself if you want to use the food coloring to make this look orange, and if so how orange you want it to be. Paleo purists wouldn’t use any food coloring.

Since most breakfast foods have grains, paleo eaters can sometimes have a hard time finding filling options other than eggs and bacon. The Paleolithic Diet, an increasingly popular lifestyle choice, is based on consuming only foods available to the first humans who lived over 200,000 years ago. Meaning: Plants and animal meats are in and grain and dairy products are out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pr9Ogyiw4AA
These pork chops are made on the grill, so they are going to seal in all of the delicious grilled flavor. Plus they have added a nice mustard coating on it, so you’re going to have a bit of spiciness here as well as the flavor from the pork. They topped it off with basil apricot relish so there will be a sweetness to balance out the mustard, and sweet fruits like apple sauce are often paired with pork chops because they simply go really well together. You’ll want to make sure that you get a vegetable with this. It’s nice to have some fruit with it, but vegetables get top rank along with meat.
This is a great way to start your day and feel like you really ate a full meal. Eating Paleo means eating until you feel content, not starving yourself or depriving yourself of a full-sized meal. This breakfast burger is packed with wonderful breakfast foods that will not only keep you satisfied but will also make sure you aren’t cheating on your diet. You’re getting super foods like avocado, eggs, and fresh kale, which work nicely together and provide a good mix of protein, vitamins, and minerals. The avocados have potassium, the eggs have protein and minerals, and the kale has plenty of fiber and other good things for your body.
Absolutely the best chicken ever, even the breast meat was moist! It's the only way I'll cook a whole chicken again. Simple, easy, quick, no mess - perfect every time. I've used both stainless steel and cast iron pans. great and easy technique for “roasted” chicken. I will say there were no pan juices, just fat in the skillet. Will add to the recipe rotation. Good for family and company dinners too. I've done this using a rimmed sheet pan instead of a skillet and put veggies and potatoes around the chicken for a one-pan meal. Broccoli gets nicely browned and yummy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q-9OvUXEnk
I made these this weekend. They were great. I added some sliced strawberries to top them and in between the short stack of pancakes. Delicious! My wife loved the flavor, but found the texture to be a little odd.I am thinking about adding a 1/4 cup of almond flour to give them a boost in the texture department. All in all, I thought they were great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo49Pyhii-k
This is one tasty burger, and they chose wisely when they topped it with guacamole. The guac not only adds in a massive amount of flavor, but it also adds healthy fat, potassium, and fiber to the mix. Speaking of fiber, you’ll get even more from the buns. That’s because they’re made from sweet potato noodles which are made using a spiralizer and fresh sweet potatoes. Who ever heard of a burger bun that provides this level of antioxidants? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzXJvzIe6bw

It’s a great plan to have an emergency Paleo kit in your desk at work. This way whether your caught sort, or don’t have time for lunch, you always have a fast Paleo snack at your fingertips. If you’re buying pre packages tins and packets, make sure you check the ingredients and get the best quality available. These options should store and keep well for a while in your desk; perfect for an emergency stash!
The first time we made this recipe I followed it to the letter, which resulted in an AMAZING, fluffy texture and wonderful flavor -until we got to the aftertaste, which was very overwhelming and metallic. I assumed it was too much baking soda, but to give the creator credit, maybe it was the brand of baking soda I used. The second time I made the recipe I used a different brand of baking soda, reduced it to 1/2 teaspoon, and added 3/4 teaspoon of lemon juice to the recipe to activate the baking soda. The revised recipe created a wonderful, fluffy pancake with an amazing flavor, and won rave reviews from my son, who said these are his new favorite meal! Thanks for helping our family to have delicious, healthy meals! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TluCTt_tjBY

I had to follow your link to the crepe pan out of curiosity! Do you know if it works well for making roti? We have a legit Indian roti pan and I’ve been asked several times over the years by friends and family where to find a “roti pan” or if they can just use their cast iron skillet? This seems like it’s pretty close in comparison and sells for a reasonable price! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyxPH6jPnlw
Nina, how much cinnamon do you use for your pancakes? I have tried banana pancakes, with just 2 eggs, a banana and then some cinnamon and vanilla, but….I find seems like the banana tends to overpower things a bit, not sure if I’m not used to or not or if using an organic one would make a difference, but it’s a little bit of an adjustment. Any tips there? A binder may not be a bad idea either…… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2wGrYngpJ0
I think granola bars are pretty healthy so my kids and I eat them for snacks all the time. They aren’t just for breakfast anymore. These granola bars come together quickly and are so easy to make. Chopping the nuts is the most time-consuming part and you probably know that isn’t very hard. You can use whatever nuts you like or have on hand. You can forget the chocolate if you’d like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xU0XX4beBk
