This Crock Pot roast has everything you’d want from a traditional Sunday roast, all in one pot. Any time I see a grain-free recipe for pancakes that says “like REAL pancakes” I always hope “Yes, maybe this is THE ONE!” But like all the others, it’s not. Comments on here saying that there was a strong baking soda taste were correct. I even added in chocolate chips to cover it a bit (still there!) and followed some tips I saw in the comments–I mixed the dry ingredients together then ran them through a mesh strainer (twice!) to make sure everything was well incorporated, added a bit of vanilla and cinnamon, like I used to with regular pancakes, and folded the egg whites at the end to keep the pancakes fluff(ier). I will give them that: they stayed thick, and folding in the egg whites did help most of them from getting too dense (but never fluffy like a real pancake). Then again, mine definitely didn’t come out like the video batter–it was closer to a cookie dough consistency.
I only used one banana, one egg, and scraped the bottom of my natural almond butter, a dash of cinnamon, and they were great. I would make the full size if I was feeding my husband too but I just wanted to say that if you want to make just enough for yourself it still works great. I maybe had about 3-4 tbsps of almond butter but I’m not sure. I would definitely make these again, they taste just like banana nut bread to me. Yum!

Hi Kirsty, I recommend any diet that encourages clean eating and avoiding processed food. It doesn’t really matter which one. The more from scratch you cook the better. You can also talk to a trainer to work out some exercise specifically for fat burning just make sure to measure your belly/thighs or wherever you want to loose weight to NOT worry about weight but rather body shape. Muscle weighs more than fat so you might not loose weight but loose fat and become leaner. Diet and exercise go hand in hand. One won’t work without the other. This recipe idea came from her, she has a staple chicken salad recipe that she makes weekly, and we get really creative with 100 million ways we can eat it. After finding these completely Paleo wraps, we decided to stuff them with her chicken salad. It was deeelicious. I love all different kinds of chicken salad. I have been making pancakes with coconut flour and my husband eats them and doesn’t mind them, but doesn’t love them. I made them with almond flour way back and they were much more satisfying. I live in the Caribbean, so many things are hard to find, but they are making Casava flour, breadfruit flour, pumpkin and green banana flour and I can get chick pea flour which has been good! I would love to try the pumpkin flour in pancakes, but not sure if I would use it the same way you have used the almond flour in this recipe?

I made these this weekend. They were great. I added some sliced strawberries to top them and in between the short stack of pancakes. Delicious! My wife loved the flavor, but found the texture to be a little odd.I am thinking about adding a 1/4 cup of almond flour to give them a boost in the texture department. These were great Libby.Seeing I’m on sugar free September I was craving carbs as my go to sweet thing, 85v% chocolate, is off limits as it too has a little suagr in it from memory.. The half a banana in my portion I shared with my husband won’t hurt. Had Greek Yoghurt and strawberries with them and am full and satisfied. BTW this recipe made 8 small panckaes (I call them pikelets).

I there, I’m cooking for my friend who has secondary cancer and has strict guidelines on what she can eat. She told me that it’s pretty much Paleo how she been advice to eat. It’s natural to want crunchy foods, but on Paleo you won’t want to subject yourself to many of the crunchy options out there. In this recipe they are coating a snapper fillet with sesame seeds, so you will get the delicate texture of the fish juxtaposed with the crunchy sesame seeds, all fried up in grass fed butter. The frying makes sure that the sesame seeds have a nice toasted flavor, and they point out that if you don’t have grass fed butter you can also use ghee or bacon fat to fry the fish in. Hey Tessa! Good question. So after calculating from my credit card, I spend about $275 on average on food without really budgeting. I stick to eggs and chicken as my main form of protein and look for when grassfed beef is on sale. Even at $7 a pound I can get about 3 meals out of that, so it’s not too bad. You’ve done it again! You’ve managed to knock our old favourite pancakes off the top spot and these little beauties are now in pole position in the family pancake hall of fame. Traditional french fries are something you’ll have to give up on Paleo, but this version has enough modifications to it that you can eat them as a replacement. They’re made from jicama, a food that is potentially better for you than potatoes, although Paleo purists would still want to avoid the whole french fry situation altogether. These are cooked up in coconut oil, one of the approved Paleo oils, and are using grass-fed cheese. They even show you how to make the sauce for the top.
I always cook a tray of bacon in the oven while the pancakes are on the griddle, and then we make sandwiches with bacon and maple butter. The kids love them for school lunches or afternoon snacks! Excellent recipe. It turned out great! One thing… my mistake… nothing to do with the recipe, I didn’t read the part to make them tiny at first. So, my first two pancakes were regular pancake sizes and were a little moist in the middle, so the outside ended up being too dry while I was waiting for the inside to cook. HOWEVER, when I poured them in the smaller size as instructed, it turned out great.
