These mini cheesecakes might take some time to make, but it’s totally worth it. You start by making a batch of chocolate cookies for the base, then create a cheesecake-like middle without using any dairy, and then top it off with coconut cream and cacao nibs for the finale. This is the type of dessert that will make you feel like you’re not on a diet at all, and that goes in line with the Paleo mentality. Even though it’s referred to as the Paleo Diet, it’s more like a lifestyle and a way of being than something that you have to force yourself to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeqwyVcRp7E
The first time we made this recipe I followed it to the letter, which resulted in an AMAZING, fluffy texture and wonderful flavor -until we got to the aftertaste, which was very overwhelming and metallic. I assumed it was too much baking soda, but to give the creator credit, maybe it was the brand of baking soda I used. The second time I made the recipe I used a different brand of baking soda, reduced it to 1/2 teaspoon, and added 3/4 teaspoon of lemon juice to the recipe to activate the baking soda. The revised recipe created a wonderful, fluffy pancake with an amazing flavor, and won rave reviews from my son, who said these are his new favorite meal! Thanks for helping our family to have delicious, healthy meals!
This is one tasty burger, and they chose wisely when they topped it with guacamole. The guac not only adds in a massive amount of flavor, but it also adds healthy fat, potassium, and fiber to the mix. Speaking of fiber, you’ll get even more from the buns. That’s because they’re made from sweet potato noodles which are made using a spiralizer and fresh sweet potatoes. Who ever heard of a burger bun that provides this level of antioxidants?
If you’re a big fan of chips, you’ll be happy to know that you don’t have to give them up when following the Paleo diet. While you may not be able to incorporate your favorite brands from childhood or run by the convenience store for a quick snack bag, fruit and veggie chips are a much healthier and lighter alternative. Although you can find pricey bags of these types of chips at most grocery stores today, the ingredient list can be questionable. Compared to the equivalent, make-at-home fruit and veggie chips will provide your body with energizing nutrients. Here are some recipes for chips that you can feel good about eating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnLc95VpW5Q

Don’t settle for buying Fruit Roll-Ups when you can make your own version at home, without all of the chemicals and preservatives. These leathery lookalikes deliver all the flavor you could ask from a fruit snack, because they’re really made from fruit. Apples and strawberries to be exact, and there’s even a grapefruit added for good measure. The recipe ends up making 10 strips, which should be enough to get you through the week. It’s a bit of a novelty, and a delicious way to get some vitamins and nutrients into your body. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9Jc3-NjnZc
Isn’t it awesome just how many foods you can have with Paleo. There’s virtually nothing that’s off limits as long as you’re using the right ingredients. In this version of the classic chocolate cream pie, the regular crust has been replaced with an almond-based crust so you’ll get more fiber and protein from the crust that you would with any flour-based crust. The chocolate is from cacao paste and isn’t filled with dairy or refined sugar. A perfectly chocolatey and healthy pie!
And the absolute best part is that they have only 5 main ingredients and take only 5 minutes to whip together. In only about 10-15 minutes of cook time, you can have delicious, light and fluffy Paleo banana pancakes. Top them with your favorite fruit, and a drizzle of maple syrup for the perfect healthy breakfast for your Saturday or Sunday morning. Another great weekend breakfast is this Sweet Potato Hash with Sausage and Eggs, this Sweet Potato Sausage Frittata or this Sweet Potato Breakfast Casserole. Enjoy!
Pancakes are a mainstay breakfast meal. But is a pancake without having to use flour even possible? Well, tell you what, the paleo pancake recipe is the answer to your question. Yes! We can make pancakes out of paleo based ingredients. All you need to get are ripe bananas, eggs, and a heaping of almond butter. And here is how we do it in 3 simple steps.
Since most breakfast foods have grains, paleo eaters can sometimes have a hard time finding filling options other than eggs and bacon. The Paleolithic Diet, an increasingly popular lifestyle choice, is based on consuming only foods available to the first humans who lived over 200,000 years ago. Meaning: Plants and animal meats are in and grain and dairy products are out.
This could be the perfect trail mix. It’s full of crunch from a variety of nuts, sweetness from coconut flakes and banana chips and just the right amount of chocolate to curb those cravings. It comes together right in the slow cooker, so your kitchen will smell amazing! Be sure to use coconut oil or ghee instead of butter here to keep it strictly Paleo.
Juli, I made 5 of your recipes on Sunday. They were all wonderful. On the triple protein burgers I substituted Spicy Italian Sausage for the hot dogs. WOW!!!!! It was awesome….so was the Avocado Chorizo Sweet Potato Skins….that is now my favorite sweet potato recipe! When is the next cookbook coming out? Your first one is being delivered tomorrow…..your favorite recipe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUfLm3_U2gk
When you're eating paleo, the worst part of the day is in between meals, when a snack craving hits and all you want is a bag of chips. We're here with some good news: Lays is still off limits, but with options like Brussels sprouts chips, roasted edamame, and veggie sushi, you'll look forward to snack time again. And if you're going keto, check out out healthy keto snacks, too.
Dark chocolate is chock-full of antioxidants and rich in good-for-you nutrients like healthy fats, iron, and magnesium. And while you can’t get those benefits from a sugary commercial candy bar, you can get them from these nibs made of pure organic cacao and nothing else. With no added sugar, these bites are a little bitter but perfect for hardcore dark chocolate fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSvXnAYW4Tg
Welcome to my kitchen! I am Neli Howard and the food blogger behind Delicious Meets Healthy. I started Delicious Meets Healthy in 2014 while working in public accounting. While everything I did at work was very analytical and detail oriented, I have enjoyed cooking because I get to use my creativity and experiment with flavors and textures of different foods.
