the flavor of these is amazing!!!!!! But… the consistency created a big issue.. they were so thin that i kept burning them/not cooking the middle all the way through. I flipped too early or too late.. it was kind of a mess in my kitchen this morning. Half way through I added almond flour to try and thicken them up.. no dice! I still ate them because they were tasty, but not easy to execute. Any advice?!

I made these today and they were sooo delicious! I am new to your site and Paleo, I spent all afternoon gathering recipes to try out. I’m in the military also and the hardest part about sticking to a plan is the meal prep and planning. I thought going Paleo would be a lot of work and time in the kitchen but so far it’s been simple and fun! Thank you for doing this, I could not come up with this on my own and you make it so easy to follow. I can’t wait to try more :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvA68vYZtDE

These sweet potato chips do a great job of filling in for regular potato chips. They have the same texture you’re looking for, both as you pick them up and once you put them in your mouth. The sea salt ensures that they’re salty enough to satisfy, and the rosemary gives them a distinct flavor that really plays well with the sweet potato. And of course sweet potatoes bring a lot more to the table in regards to nutrients and fiber, so you’re actually helping yourself along with these rather than with potato chips that will only set you back. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4RrEsZEv3I
When you only want dessert for one a cake is too much, which is why Kiri came up with a way to make a chocolate cake in a mug, using only Paleo ingredients. This comes out moist and fluffy, just like you’d expect from a cake. The other thing you’ll really love about this is she’s whittled it down to the fastest and easiest steps possible. You just toss all of the ingredients in to a mug, mix, microwave, and enjoy. This goes great with a Paleo ice cream, so it’s true that you can really have your Paleo cake and eat it too, without feeling lousy or regretful afterward.
Hi Kirsty, I recommend any diet that encourages clean eating and avoiding processed food. It doesn’t really matter which one. The more from scratch you cook the better. You can also talk to a trainer to work out some exercise specifically for fat burning just make sure to measure your belly/thighs or wherever you want to loose weight to NOT worry about weight but rather body shape. Muscle weighs more than fat so you might not loose weight but loose fat and become leaner. Diet and exercise go hand in hand. One won’t work without the other. Most importantly though….go you for carrying 3 human beings in your amazing body be kind to yourself and your body, it’s done a hell of a lot of amazing work :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeEcNmmiyNM
Yes, dark chocolate can be Paleo, and yes, many Paleo experts actually recommend dark chocolate in moderation when it comes to healthy snacks. (Dark chocolate is even included in our 50 best healthy eating tips of all time because it’s packed with antioxidants and has been proven to boost brain health and curb cravings.) But not all dark chocolate meets Paleo snack standards. Look for unsweetened dark chocolate or baking chocolate with 80 percent or more cocoa. EatingEvolved and Primal Kitchen both make dairy-free and certified organic Paleo dark chocolate bars.
They’ve taken the approach of using meat to replace the crust of the pizza, which cuts out the grains and makes this one meaty pizza pie. The crust is made from Italian sausage, so it’s going to be massively flavorful, and a little spicey. They recommend using a sugar-free pizza sauce, which on Paleo you don’t want to eat any refined sugar, so this is a good recommendation to follow. They’ve made sure to include a bunch of vegetables in this “meatizza” so you are still going to get your nutritional needs met, in addition to all of that meat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KQgyfPixmw
I went on Saturday morning and I excitedly told the young girl about finding your blog. The owner was out at the farmers market. I got the chicken salad wrap….delish! I purchases the paleo wraps and can’t wait to make my own this week. I am new paleo….I’ve tried many ways of eating…from raw to lord knows what. I’m 56 in pretty good health but have a bad hip. I need to loose about 20 pounds and want to do it healthfully and have the weight stay off and this be a lifestyle. I’ll be following your blog and maybe I’ll see you at Vive!
This is one tasty burger, and they chose wisely when they topped it with guacamole. The guac not only adds in a massive amount of flavor, but it also adds healthy fat, potassium, and fiber to the mix. Speaking of fiber, you’ll get even more from the buns. That’s because they’re made from sweet potato noodles which are made using a spiralizer and fresh sweet potatoes. Who ever heard of a burger bun that provides this level of antioxidants? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKDQrFUQB88
These are the best gluten free pancakes I’ve ever had… and maybe the best pancakes ever, period! They are so good! I added an overripe banana and decreased the coconut milk a tad to keep the consistency right. I topped them with whipped coconut cream and fresh strawberries. OMG. I want to eat them every day from now on. THANK YOU! I wish there was a way to post a picture, because they actually turned out beautifully browned and round, too, which is hard to come by in most grain free pancakes in my experience! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRCgH9ZQj2o
These veggie roll ups are great to make ahead of time, and it’s a good idea to plan snacks into your day, rather than waiting until you get hungry and then frantically making something. Cucumber acts as the roll, and a tomato is the prize inside. Cashews act as a nice filling to help hold it all together, once they get blended up into a sort of paste. Olive oil, garlic, sea salt and basil are all Paleo goodies, so you can feel totally fine by having this as a snack anytime you get hungry and it’s not time for a full meal.
Oh my goodness! I just made & ate the paleo pancakes – they were the bomb! Lol. I used fresh squeezed lemon juice in place of the wine vinegar & a little more almond-coconut milk for a thinner batter. Pancakes were light/fluffy & absolutely delicious! They are also filling. I should have stopped eating at the 1 medium-size pancake but ate 2 b/c they were so good! I am so glad I stumbled upon your youtube video/website. I plan to try some of your other recipes. Thanks for sharing your recipes.
Apples are one of the healthiest fruits you can have, and are something our ancestors would have eaten anytime they came upon an apple tree. Here they’re filled with tasty things like raisins, brandy, cinnamon, and nutmeg, all baked right inside a cored apple. This means that the flavor gets infused right into the apple, which softens up during the baking process. Giving up dessert is not necessary on Paleo, it’s simply a matter of changing your idea of what dessert has to be. You’re getting a healthy and satisfying dessert here with no added sugar.

My three kids and I just finished a double batch of these and LOVED them! I’ve tried so many paleo pancake recipes and they’ve never turned out as “normal” as these (usually really flat and take forever to cook). I took the advice from another comment and beat the egg whites, separately, before beating them into the batter. We’ll definitely make these again! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3tXE5vqisA
These spicy chicken tenders are grilled up so you will be getting lots of that delicious grilled flavor, as well as plenty of spice. They are using sriracha, one of the trendiest hot sauces that goes good with anything. You can also use your own preferred hot sauce, if sriracha is not to your liking. They are have added yellow mustard to the hot sauce, to give it a more dynamic taste, and you’ll be getting sweetness from either raw honey or maple syrup, whichever one you choose to go with. She’s garnished it with cilantro, but also mentions that you can use parsley or basil, whichever suits your taste better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po3If8ARqDQ

Fruit snacks and roll-ups (i.e. fruit leather), often packed as additions to a child’s lunch box or provided as an afternoon snack, can be anything but a fruit-based snack. Often packed with simple sugars and void of dietary fiber, fruit snacks may not seem like a healthy snack to incorporate as part of a Paleo diet, but it is easy to cut out excess sugar when you make your own fruit snacks or roll-ups from scratch. These “real” and natural fruit-based goodies make a delicious sweet snack when you are craving sugar. Great to have on hand for both yourself and children, take a peek at these tasty recipes that may soon become a staple in your Paleo pantry:
More than a little into running and paleo recipes (yoga now too!) but I'm not here to rain on your grains (or anything else) so come along for the ride! I do a little too much of everything (except cleaning), and I enjoy laughing at myself. As long as I'm the one making the jokes, that is. Just kidding. So bring me your angst, your appetite and your frying pan and climb aboard! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye9x6AAcrUk
You can’t go wrong with curried cashews, as cashews are one of the more popular Paleo Nuts, and curry is a Paleo approved spice. They use honey to add a bit of sweetness to these, which only makes them more satisfying because it can hit your craving for sweet as well as savory. The best part is you can make a big batch of these and then divvy them up into smaller containers to use throughout the following week. They also point out that you can make curried pecans instead, if you happen to have pecans on hand and not cashews. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JMPLMKoDMA
These skittles are made totally with fruit or vegetables and coconut butter. It’s the combination of the fruits and veggies that make them so good. The recipes for all 7 different flavors are included. The ingredients listed above for maroon consist of all the ingredients. The other colors only have the ingredients listed that are not included in the maroon variety. All you need is a good blender and a food dehydrator. Although I have dried fruits in the oven before. The oven is faster but necessarily better. Just turn it on the lowest heat possible. I put links to two different dehydrators because one is way more affordable than the other. I have the cheap one and it works fine. But if you think you might use it a lot it might be worth the investment to get the more expensive one. Since the skittles are dried they can be stored at room temperature for a long time. That makes them handy to keep in your purse or bag for a time. I’ve also been known to freeze. dried foods and they keep just fine for a really long time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baEZwX4imOc
These orange gummies are made to exacting standards of quality, right down to the use of grass-fed gelatin. When eating Paleo you’ll have to get used to the process of being very discerning with the types of products you buy and consume. It’s almost like starting a revolution against the world around you since so much of what you see in stores and at restaurants is not Paleo, and has either been genetically modified or is conventionally grown. This recipe exemplifies the sort of pickiness you have to have about what goes in your body. At the same time it provides a yummy orange-flavored snack that’s great anytime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UuDFkXxEnI
Kale chips make a great snack because they don’t contain anything that’s unhealthy for you. In this recipe she’s simply using curly kale and olive oil, so you are getting all of the benefits of kale, without any hydrogenated oils or industrial grade salt. You won’t believe how crispy and crunchy kale gets when you bake it until you try it. And since it is loaded with fiber, and has respectable amounts of potassium, with Vitamin A and Vitamin C levels that are off the charts, this is one of the healthiest snacks around. It’s also low in calories and fat, and the olive oil only adds healthy fat to the equation.
These Paleo pizza bites will blow you away with their pizza flavor. She’s managed to make them extra delicious even though there isn’t any cheese in them at all. They look like little baked meatballs, but the cool thing about them is the way they burst with flavor when you eat them. It’s the Italian sausage that gives them the intense flavor, as well as the accompanying ingredients like bell peppers and mushrooms, just like you’d find on a pizza.
Thread are amazing! Thank you! I sauteed the bananas a little bit in some Kerry’s butter, some sea salt, and cinnamon to bring out the sweetness a little. The bananas weren’t very ripe. I used cashew butter. . The batter was really thick so I added one more egg. I found that smaller dollaps of batter cooked a little bit more easily and the ones that were thinner tended to cook more evenly. I’m looking forward to playing with these more! Thanks again, George!
These breakfast cups use two primary ingredients that are Paleo friendly: ham and eggs. They make a cup out of the ham so that the egg can rest inside of it. This means you are not getting any additional ingredients to muck things up, and they have kept it very simple. In fact there are only two other ingredients, and one of those is optional. You just add a bit of green onion, and if you feel like it you can put a bit of cheese on. They are using nitrate free ham, so you can tell that there is plenty of attention being given to using quality ingredients.
Thanks for the recipe! I’ve been looking for a low carb, high fat/protein recipe for a long time. All others failed and this one was perfect. I’m not really paleo so I added some very non paleo items to this recipe. But it turned out really yummy! Used pumpkin, pnb, and whey protein powder! Made about 9 cakes- and 3 were very filling. So I’m excited to have pancakes for breakfast for the next two days :D
You’ve probably seen plantains at the grocery store; they look like funny bananas. But if you haven’t cooked them yet, you’re in for a treat. My favorite way is this one: slice ’em, fry ’em in coconut oil and sprinkle with cinnamon. They make a sweet alternative to potato chips, but also go really well with main dishes if you need them to do double duty.
These are delicious! I didn’t have any coconut flour so I used 1/4 of all plant protein powder and they turned out great. I did separate the egg whites and beat them separately. I couldn’t believe how light and fluffy they were, although they were pretty delicate and wanted to fall apart. Next time I think I would add in some starch or binder to hold them together a bit more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT3-ea4BwiE

This could be the perfect trail mix. It’s full of crunch from a variety of nuts, sweetness from coconut flakes and banana chips and just the right amount of chocolate to curb those cravings. It comes together right in the slow cooker, so your kitchen will smell amazing! Be sure to use coconut oil or ghee instead of butter here to keep it strictly Paleo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrcSUhdBgtc
