For most people on a SAD diet, the only reliable source of iodine is iodized salt. Many people on a Paleo diet decide to shun added salt completely or to consume unrefined sea salt instead of regular iodized table salt. This is great, but with such a change, an effort should be made to eat iodine rich foods occasionally. Seaweeds are a great option.


Hi, I was wondering if anyone has made these without eggs? They sound great but I am allergic to egg yolks. I was thinking of substituting sweet potato purée as that was recommended as an egg substitute for baking on another site, but wasn’t sure how that would work in a flourless recipe sweetened with bananas. Absolutely the best chicken ever, even the breast meat was moist! It's the only way I'll cook a whole chicken again. Simple, easy, quick, no mess - perfect every time. I've used both stainless steel and cast iron pans. great and easy technique for “roasted” chicken. I will say there were no pan juices, just fat in the skillet. Will add to the recipe rotation. Good for family and company dinners too.

I’ve tried many paleo recipes for pancakes, mostly using bananas. While I love bananas, I use them so much that sometimes I want something else. These pancakes are incredible! I didn’t have tapioca flour, so I used arrowroot as others suggested. I made them with blueberries last night for dinner, and they tasted and looked like REAL pancakes. I saved the leftover batter and made some for breakfast and the batter held up fine overnight in the fridge. Not only are they delish, but they are very easy to turn over in the pan (unlike other paleo recipes). For a heartier cake, it’s best to mix a few different flours.
