I’m sure I’m missing about a million other prepared snack options but I’m going to leave ya’ with my top 15 here. I know there’s also a ton of chocolate bars, treats, snacks, etc. but I’m not including those as I personally choose to not eat straight up chocolate as a snack anymore. I have way too many old food habits to jump on that train ;). If you have any other suggestions, favorites or things I’m missing, leave me a comment and let me know what to add!
These gummy snacks are billed as being anti-inflammatory and use a host of ingredients that have been shown to help curb inflammation in the body, namely turmeric and ginger. The way they’ve made these into gummy form is through the use of gelatin, which is definitely a go on Paleo. There’s also other healthy items to really make these a vitamin-packed snack, including citrus juice of your choice and raw honey. By using natural ingredients like raw honey you’re eating food that is as close to nature as possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EICS1tZ2Hp4
This recipe couldn’t be more perfectly named, as these Paleo pancakes are in fact magic. Simply plop the ingredients in a blender (may we never mash a banana again), cook, and top with all-natural raspberry syrup—which is as easy to make as the pancakes themselves. This flour-free recipe can yield somewhat flat pancakes, so we say add a dash of baking powder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSGRd5Ve1zI
These make a great snack because they have a lot going on. There’s sweet potato in them, so you’ve got fiber built into them. They’ve also cut out all grain, using almond meal and coconut flour instead. The sweetness comes from honey, not from the coconut because the coconut is unsweetened. These aren’t sweet enough to be considered a dessert, and they’re billed as supplying energy thanks to the sweet potato they contain. Sweet potato is great as a snack because it is digested slowly and releases energy over a longer time period.
Can we all just agree right now that snacks are the best? Knowing I have a delicious and satisfying snack in my bag just makes me feel better about life, ya know? When it comes to being healthy though, the quality of the snacks you rely on matter. I think we all know there’s a big difference between a bag of Doritos and a bag of healthy jerky when you’re stuck somewhere and hungry. Relying on process and full of garbage snacks every time you find yourself away from your kitchen can be a major hit to your health goals. So what’s a snack-lovin’ girl to do?
Almonds are paleo-approved, but it can sometimes be hard to just stop at a handful. While almonds are packed with protein, healthy fats, and an amino acid L-arginine that can help you burn more fat during workouts, they are also calorie dense—if you’re not careful, you can end up downing hundreds of calories worth of almonds in one sitting. That’s why we love these 100 calorie packs. They’re perfectly portioned and contain only whole natural almonds without sketchy ingredients or additives.
You may need some almond flour in your recipe. I made some paleo pancakes just this morning and mixed the following: 1 mashed up banana, 1 organic egg, 1/2 cup almond flour, 2 T almond butter, cinnamon to taste, and ~1/4 c almond or coconut milk to thin the batter as desired. Butter the pan or use walnut oil, cook as usual. Flip when bubbles form or batter turns golden brown. Top with fruit like strawberries or blueberries, more butter, bacon, or w/ organic 100% maple syrup. This batch makes 6 small, nutty pancakes which serves 2 (unless one is really hungry! I can’t recall where to credit the recipe, but it sure is good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuaUI30NR5E

Butternut squash is great for you, kale is fantastic for you, so in this recipe you’re already starting off on the right foot. Next, add in some beef and you’re doing just dandy in regards to Paleo eating. That’s because you’re getting plenty of nutrition from the kale and squash, as well as the requisite protein from the beef, so you’ll feel satiated at the end of the bowl, and this is a stew that eats like a meal because it is a meal, it just happens to be in a bowl. You brown the meat in bacon fat, giving it wild amounts of flavor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iMM4Cx_bKk
These pork chops are made on the grill, so they are going to seal in all of the delicious grilled flavor. Plus they have added a nice mustard coating on it, so you’re going to have a bit of spiciness here as well as the flavor from the pork. They topped it off with basil apricot relish so there will be a sweetness to balance out the mustard, and sweet fruits like apple sauce are often paired with pork chops because they simply go really well together. You’ll want to make sure that you get a vegetable with this. It’s nice to have some fruit with it, but vegetables get top rank along with meat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axI5p2KQiFQ
If you want to get your chocolate craving satisfied with your snack time, these energy balls are the way to go. What we’re typically looking for when deciding on a snack is whether it will provide the fuel to get you to your next meal. With these you’ll be able to cruise to your next meal, and you won’t get those groggy or foggy times when you just want to eat and you can’t focus. You also won’t get that panicky feeling that occurs when you don’t know what your next meal is going to be. Have these energy balls and then you’ll be able to focus long enough to plan your next meal or take care of important work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQDpobq7jYY&t=91s
I think granola bars are pretty healthy so my kids and I eat them for snacks all the time. They aren’t just for breakfast anymore. These granola bars come together quickly and are so easy to make. Chopping the nuts is the most time-consuming part and you probably know that isn’t very hard. You can use whatever nuts you like or have on hand. You can forget the chocolate if you’d like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdVlCoQFzIs
For a heartier cake, it’s best to mix a few different flours. This recipe uses almond, coconut, and tapioca flour, and also insists that eggs be at room temperature so the ingredients bind easily and cook perfectly (i.e. not too fast, which can cause them to burn). Berries can be a little tricky in this lightened-up batter, so we say skip 'em and stick to the compote.
Thank you for posting this! I have been practicing the paleo diet on and off for a few months and getting little cravings in between is hard because I know I can’t eat junk. This saves a lot of time and energy and I feel better knowing there are fun and easy paleo snacks to make without breaking your diet! Do you have any other ideas that may be easy and quick to make to save time and energy? Thanks :)
