When you stuff them with salami you are pretty much getting equal parts meat and vegetable, making this very Paleo. FYI, The Paleo Kitchen cookbook has a mayo recipe that is SOOOO much easier…you take 3/4 cut oil of your choice, 1 egg, lemon juice(1 tsp I think), and 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard, place them in a tall, narrow container, and use an immersion blender! Start at the bottom and move the blender upward as the ingredients emulsify. I had quit making my own mayo because the other way was SO time consuming and mine never seemed to come out right, but this version is pretty fool-proof! I use grapeseed oil because the olive oil is a bit bitter for me.
OK George so I finally found a recipe easy enough to try and all I can say is “All I Want For Christmas is a Blendtec!” I’ve been wanting to make my own nut butters but a regular old food processor does not do the trick. So I improvised and used almond meal. I also can’t eat that many pancakes so I used 2 bananas 2 eggs and 1/2 C almond meal. Then some stuff like ginger, nutmeg. They tasted great but fell apart. Not to worry I will try it again with the nut butter. Thank you!

Hey Gabrielle.. the whole world is confusing when it comes to people telling us what’s right/ what’s not right and what’s healthy/ what’s not healthy. Your better off basing your diet on how your body feels after eating something (tired, bloated, sinus problems, how you feel emotionally, great or satisfied etc) Your body tells you awesome stuff about the things you eat if you pay attention to it.
Quiche is usually fair game on the Paleo diet because it’s primarily made with eggs, and eggs are definitely a Paleo approved food. This particular quiche recipe includes plenty of delicious ingredients, and she’s topped it off with a zucchini hash crust so it’s crunchy on the top, and full of eggs and yummy vegetables on the bottom. All of the ingredients that are not Paleo in a traditional quiche have been removed and replaced with Paleo perfect items. She spit them out because she said they had a”sour” taste. I didn’t notice at first but when I went back and tasted, there was a very distinct bitter note on the finish of these pancakes. Once I noticed it, it stood out big time. Any ideas on this flavor? I was thinking it was the tapioca starch as we are new to this ingredient and seemed to be the only culprit. I always cook a tray of bacon in the oven while the pancakes are on the griddle, and then we make sandwiches with bacon and maple butter. The kids love them for school lunches or afternoon snacks! Oh my goodness! I just made & ate the paleo pancakes – they were the bomb! Lol. I used fresh squeezed lemon juice in place of the wine vinegar & a little more almond-coconut milk for a thinner batter. Pancakes were light/fluffy & absolutely delicious! They are also filling. I should have stopped eating at the 1 medium-size pancake but ate 2 b/c they were so good! I am so glad I stumbled upon your youtube video/website. I plan to try some of your other recipes. This is a cute snack that can help you cool off on a hot summer day or night, and won’t impact your Paleo eating one bit. That’s because it uses just two ingredients in this sandwich, so it’s just a matter of cutting them up and eating them. The way they’ve presented it makes it a great party dish, because who doesn’t like eating things off of toothpicks. The trickiest part is getting the cucumbers and watermelon to be cut into the same sized squares so that they look good. If you’re just making a snack for yourself you don’t have to be so exact.

We have a legit Indian roti pan and I’ve been asked several times over the years by friends and family where to find a “roti pan” or if they can just use their cast iron skillet? These little sandwiches are really pushing the limits of a conventional sandwich. Bacon is serving as the “bread” and guacamole is the thing getting sandwiched. Avocados are bona fide superfood, and contain plenty of potassium, fiber, and healthy fat. Bacon is often the scourge of most diet plans, but on Paleo it is allowed so why not dig in? The two go really well together, and you’ll often find them as add-ons to deli sandwiches because they simply taste that good.
Sometimes I just don’t want the banana flavor either. So I decided that processing other fresh fruits/vegetables to the consistency of applesauce would give me some variety. The mildest I have tried so far are apples and zucchini. The eggs really provide the structure, so if it’s a little juicy, like pineapple, you may want just a bit more egg than fruit, and a good hot pan to keep them from spreading too much. However, I have also realized (accidentally the first time) that I can make a thinnish one the size of my skillet, flip it, and have a nice wrap too. Just don’t cook it too dry or it splits like egg when you bend it. Extra coconut oil/butter in the mix helps that a little. Made with pureed homemade salsa, it’s fantastic with some seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato, sour cream. Made with pureed zucchini, the most versatile savory (spice it up!) one, I think, that is particularly good with mediterranean-spiced lamb and some garlic and cucumber in sour cream (I miss my shawarma). I’m still working with the ratios to get a wrap that consistently doesn’t break, so I can eat it like a tortilla/flatbread, but I usually end up eating it with a fork any way.

These sweet and sour gummy candies are actually good for you. Pretty weird huh? They are really easy and actually a lot of fun to make. All you do is mix the ingredients, put them into a mold either by pouring or using a plastic bag with a small hole in the corner. Then either put them in the refrigerator or freezer to set depending on how big of a hurry you’re in. You could make them any shape or color you’d like. I went on Saturday morning and I excitedly told the young girl about finding your blog. The owner was out at the farmers market. I got the chicken salad wrap….delish! I have been eyeing the paleo lifestyle for a while now (not yet completely wheat-free because my hubby planted and harvested wheat last year so I am obliged to bake some whole wheat bread), and I have been on a HFLC diet most of the days. I have been considering taking the plunge to a paleo lifestyle with occasional high-carb indulgences using paleo-approved ingredients with the addition of raw milk/cream/butter. This morning was my first wheat-free pancake using your recipe, but adding some BSoda and BPowder, and separating the egg white to whip it up first before folding into the rest of the batter (hoping to make them fluffier; not sure if they made any difference). They turned out great, but like you said, make them small enough (my first batch turned out quite big still, I had a hard time flipping them without breaking) and I had to cook on low for long periods, esp that one side to make sure the middle cooked). Slathered homemade butter from grass-fed cows and poured homemade (by in-laws) maple syrup. My sons loved them too, although I burnt some (hard to control heat on a glass stove top). I’m not really paleo so I added some very non paleo items to this recipe. But it turned out really yummy! Used pumpkin, pnb, and whey protein powder! Made about 9 cakes- and 3 were very filling. So I’m excited to have pancakes for breakfast for the next two days :D
I just made these for my 3 kids and they gobbled them up! I added chocolate chips and made the pancakes about 2 inches in diameter. They were a bit difficult to flip and turned brown quickly, but they still tasted great. We did use a little maple syrup but didn’t use nearly as much as we have with regular pancake mix. I loved that this is a high-nutrient, kid-friendly breakfast. Do you have any suggestions for subbing the coconut flour with a different (nut-free) flour? My daughter could taste the coconut so I’d like to try a different flour next time.
I’m really loving these and have made them twice. The only variation in my prep work is that I seperate my eggs and beat the whites into whipped light air before folding in the batter and I noticed the pancakes have a lighter texture and not dense. I changed no ingredients so 2 thumbs up and hubby is diabetic and can eat these no problem so he is happy. Much thanks !

Any time I see a grain-free recipe for pancakes that says “like REAL pancakes” I always hope “Yes, maybe this is THE ONE!” But like all the others, it’s not. Comments on here saying that there was a strong baking soda taste were correct. I even added in chocolate chips to cover it a bit (still there!) and followed some tips I saw in the comments–I mixed the dry ingredients together then ran them through a mesh strainer (twice!) to make sure everything was well incorporated, added a bit of vanilla and cinnamon, like I used to with regular pancakes, and folded the egg whites at the end to keep the pancakes fluff(ier). I will give them that: they stayed thick, and folding in the egg whites did help most of them from getting too dense (but never fluffy like a real pancake).
