I am not over weight. I am quite small actually. Maybe just need to tone up. I have severe fibromyalgia. Yes, I did it right. Only 3 ingredients. Are you like some people and just pass up plantains in the grocery store? I used to be like that. I didn’t even know what they were. They looked weird and terrible. I don’t think like that anymore since I’ve gotten to know them. You can either choose them when they are on the yellow side or the green color side. The only difference is that the yellow ones are riper and therefore sweeter. The green ones are less ripe and won’t taste as sweet. That choice is just up to your preference. The yellow ones are a little harder to work with because they are more sticky. I do recommend green but you should experiment and have fun. Don’t worry about the skin being brown and a little bruised. The skin on plantains is really thick so the fruit is more protected than with a banana.

Ugh, I tried this recipe, but it was not good. I’d rate it a one star, just a bit above cardboard. Granted, I did not use Honeyville or nuts.com brand of almond flours suggested, but I did use a premium brand (Blue Diamond finely sifted flour) and even weighed out the ingredients to be certain I followed the recipe precisely. I don’t need paleo, but do need gluten-free. I have other cookie recipes that are great, and if a recipe is not great, I don’t want to waste my time or money on it. Sadly, I will not be making this again.

I am on a paleo food closed group on FB and while its been great recently they have been posting recipes that use cassava and tapioca flour. When I tell them that’s not paleo, I get shot down by others saying that its allowed, or others who are AIP, use it all the time and that its paleo. I have directed them to Dr. Cordain’s website to point out that those items are not on the paleo diet but its caused a bit of a flame war on there now. Any help would be appreciated. also as a type 2 diabetic who is hyperglycemic I have been on the paleo diet for 2 months. I have lost 17 lbs and my blood sugar has gone down from a fasting level of 277 to a normal waking level of 135-150. I can’t have any fruits since anything causes sugar spike that lasts for almost the whole day and no sweet potatoes, which sucks majorly either way. So its veggies and meat primarily. Where do I get a complete list of foods I can eat with Paleo diet? Naturally, I am a skinny person. With this diet, I lost way more than I want. Please, help me how I can gain some weight without grains and starch? I don’t think it is good to eat more than a few fruits a day because of fructose and according to the Paleo answer book, nuts, beef and sea foods have high AGE level, but I still eat fish especially salmon and lamb.

Stephany – I’m *wish* we could! I prefer baking with coconut oil whenever possible, but when I’ve tried it, the cookies spread so much and didn’t get the crackly top. I couldn’t ever really cobble together the right amounts that would offset the spread and texture change. If you try it and have better luck than me, I’d love to know what other adjustments you make!

The layout of most grocery stores is quite simple: in the inner aisles you will typically find packaged, processed foods. Things like bread, pasta, cereal, flour, sugar, etc. For the most part, many of the foods stocked in the inner aisles of a grocery store will probably be "non-paleo approved items." 
With high amounts of heart-healthy omega-3’s, fish is a great form of protein to regularly include in a paleo diet. Select wild-caught fish to avoid ingesting the harmful chemicals that farmed fish are regularly fed. Wait a second, you’re saying that rice isn’t healthy because some cultures didn’t evolve with it? Despite the fact that one of the dozens of countries in which it is most consumed has the longest lifespan on the planet (Japan)? I understand the basis of the idea of recreating the conditions which humans adapted to, but the reason that humans dominate the earth is because we are so great at adapting to new things, including widening our diet to include an enormous variety of different items. Besides, our ancestors only lived to be, what, 35-40? With our brilliant innovations, we’re now living twice that long!
I can see how a strict Paleo diet has its place in society for some people, but for me, a very under weight older person trying to gain at least 30 pounds to get back up to my normal comfortable weight, I will sprout quinoa and buckwheat, make my own gluten free breads, have the occasional red potato and rice, lentils and split peas and consume grass-fed and raw dairy products.
