Ideally, if you have a good Paleo breakfast and lunch, you’ll often find you don’t feel hungry and don’t need to snack. If you do find yourself hungry between meals, try eating more at meals (are you consuming enough satiating fat in your meals?). Also, check out the recipe book I've just written with loads of Paleo Breakfast recipes to inspire you.
This sounds great. And sorry if this has already been asked but the Ghiradelli make dairy-free, soy-free chocolate chips? I am completely dairy/soy free and struggle to find the right chocolate (especially since I live in German). I used to buy Enjoy Life, but can’t get that brand shipped here. But if Ghiradelli is dairy free I’ll have to explore that realm. Thanks!
Oils are trickier. Loren Cordain, Ph.D., founder of The Paleo Diet Movement, breaks down which oils are healthy on the paleo diet: olive, walnut, flaxseed, macadamia, avocado and coconut oils are all allowed because they were gathered directly from the plant. While our hunter-gatherer ancestors probably did not consume flaxseed oil, it is allowed because of its content of high alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a type of heart-healthy, anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3wmXpfVTp4
I’m new to Diabetes, my blood sugar is 16 , I’m on metformin but haven’t been given a diet plan but am following a mix of Paleo ( but with some low fat dairy asi am vegetarian) and no fruit at all . What are low GI vegetables please- I mainly eat cauliflower, broccoli, okra . No potatoes , yam butternut squash at all as my blood sugar is not stable.
Also Dairy, an article was published in “Nature” magazine a few years ago, and then later on in other magazines, stated with the latest DNA Technology, and other fancy stuff, they’ve managed to solve a mystery, about a 9.000 year old “Bathtub” kinda looking thing, with small holes in the bottom, which showed that they did consume Dairy, as the “Tub” was to drain of “Lactose”, so they made Cheese! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOGwEnwlDF4
No on paleo diet but awesome cookies. My husband’s favorite and kids loved it too. Very crispy cookies. Used 1/2 cup of coconut oil to help it form better. Probably could have used a little less. Kids allergic to almond so used whole wheat pastry flour. Used Agave nectar 6 Tablespoons, added 1 tablespoon of chia seeds and 1 tablespoon of flax seed ground. By the way this is my favorite cookies. Next time I’ll try adding oats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrvtOgOZwgs
Now, there are lots of people who feel iffy about snacking. And I get that. The snacks many of us were brought up and traditionally reach for (animal crackers, pretzels, cheese flavored crackers) are kind of just filling up the belly instead of actually feeding the body what it is actually asking for...which is nutrients and protein! Since moving our family to a mostly-Paleo way of eating a few years ago, our snacking game has totally changed!  Out with the starchy crackers. In with real food, nutrient dense nibbles! Nibbles that a little growing body will actually put to good use! That will actually keep them going until their next meal....with their sanity (and your's) intact.
Oh, wow. These are GOOD. I made them exactly as is. First, I couldn’t stop eating the dough (which is bad because I’m pregnant and there is raw egg). I just had my first one and I am going back for another. Love how these are healthy to help keep my pregnancy weight gain in check, but also totally craving satisfying! I will be making these again, for sure. Thank you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q-9OvUXEnk

Well chocolates and baked goods wouldn’t be a part of a paleo diet simply because they wouldn’t have been available to our ancestors hundreds or thousands of years ago. How much weight are you trying to lose? There are some fairly simple hints you can do to expedite weight loss. From colonics/hydrotherapy to fasting, exercising to surgery like gastric bypass. Cleaning out your colon is a hugely important element most people ignore when losing weight. Flush your colon (water, laxatives, enema) you’ll lose 5-10 pounds right there. Then add in good foods. Moderate your calorie intake. Cardio. Sleep 8 hours per night. DRINK WATER!!!! Good luck @tikibiggs

Hi Kate! While I still use blanched almonds occasionally, I do use raw organic almonds, with skins, for most of my almond flour needs! Since I eat raw almonds with skins often, I don’t see how grinding them into flour would make them toxic. I’ve actually never heard of that before! After doing a bit of internet research, I believe the almonds you’re thinking of are called “bitter” almonds, and as I understand it, they are not the type of almonds you’ll find in any grocery store (because they’re toxic!). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iByLhzowRl0

I have tried several low carb or paleo chocolate chip recipes. Made these last night, used half erythritol and half coconut palm sugar. I may have baked 1 min. longer, they came out crispy. But they tasted great and I love crispy cookies anyway, but next time I will bake according to the instructions. So far, these are the bet CC cookie recipe I have made since eliminating wheat, grains and sugar from my diet over 2 years ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Y3BVezBNjs
The 2nd batch I made straight after, I made them flatter/wider so they hopefully harden better once cooled… They look a bit more promising, and this time I got 8 cookies where as the first batch only made 7 and 1 tiny little baby one hehe. Oh I forgot to mention, I didn’t have any chocolate on hand, so instead I added 2 tsp of cocoa powder to make them chocolate!!! YUM!!
Don’t feel bad that you can’t have Doritos now that you’re on Paleo, you just have to come up with snacks that aren’t bad for you. These chips use a mixture of coconut flour and almond flour, and have flax seed baked right in so you’re getting a fair bit of nutrition along with your snack. These make great dipping instruments for salsa, guacamole, or any Mexican-inspired dip. They won’t be short on flavor with all of the butter and spices they’re using, so you won’t feel like you’re missing out or stuck eating “health food”. Who knows, you might even end up preferring these.
Almond butter and most other nut butters, like sunflower, coconut, hazelnut, and cashew butter, are Paleo-friendly and make for a tasty treat. Try nut butter spread on bananas or apples for a healthy snack, or even just a spoonful right out of the jar, which is a decadent treat. If you’re counting calories, cashew butter has the fewest, at about 94 per tablespoon, followed by almond butter with 98. Plus, nuts offer a ton of health benefits, including fighting diseases such as heart disease and cancer, so here are more reasons to snack on them. Note: Peanuts are not Paleo, which means peanut butter is off limits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZK_dlZO4E

Ive made a cople of your desserts now and have been SO impressed!!!!! Thank you for these great recipes!! My husband eats Paleo so I wanted to test these out for him today. Between my parents and my 4 yr old son, they ate almost the whole batch!! My dad even loved them and he has been known to eat 6 crispy kremes in one sitting without thinking twice! 😉 I used our blendtec blender to grind some raw almonds into flour (hadn’t tried that before) and with that the cookies came out delicious!! Thank you for sharing!
Remember that the point of snacking on Paleo is not a form of escapism or a pig out session, it’s to get you to your next full meal and provide you with energy when you hit a dip. These energy bars have what it takes to propel you forward with a nice mix of fruits, nuts, and seeds you’ll be able to go from depleted to energized just by eating one. They also store up nicely so you can make a batch of them and keep them for the week, allowing yourself one or two a day at strategic times when you start getting hungry and it’s nowhere near mealtime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhL5DCizj5c
